A Look Back At HARD Summer 2015 + Photos

Personally, this was my first venture into a heavy electronic music festival, and I have walked away with a special love for the people and the extremely talented artists that made thousands of people (including me) dance for two days straight.

HARD Summer, a two-day EDM-heavy music festival located in Pomona California, concluded this past Sunday August 2nd. HARD Summer has been highlighted in the news the past week for two deaths that occurred on the first day of the festival. Despite these tragedies, HARD Summer managed to host a great festival with amazing sets, beautiful LA sunsets, and let’s not forget the carnival rides! The sold-out festival had a total of five stages, three of which were indoor areas with air conditioning and bathrooms.

On Saturday, popular acts included The Weeknd, The Chemical Brothers, Dillon Francis, Porter Robinson, Schoolboy Q, and Odesza. The overlap of the five stages made choosing artists difficult, however, every set was packed with enthusiastic fans throughout the day and night.

Sunday proved to be every bit as amazing as Saturday with crowd favorites Jack Ü, Ratatat, Chromeo, RL Grime, and Fetty Wap just to name a few. Once the sun set on the fairplex the crowd filled up at the main stage awaiting the headliners Jack Ü. The crowd was buzzing with rumors of who would appear on stage with the duo, and the crowd freaked when special guests 2 Chainz and Justin Bieber walked on stage.

Overall, HARD Summer was filled with excessive heat, completely crazy outfits/costumes, dedicated fans, and absolute musical excellence. Personally, this was my first venture into a heavy electronic music festival, and I have walked away with a special love for the people and the extremely talented artists that made thousands of people (including me) dance for two days straight. HARD Summer was a blast!
