Bestival Toronto has dropped its lineup, with The Cure and Tame Impala headlining the festival’s return to Canada this summer. The swirling psychedelic soundscapes of Tame Impala will enchant Bestival-goers on June 11th, while The Cure will close out the festivities on June 12th.
Odesza, Grimes, Porter Robinson and a returning Jamie xx are among the other highlights of the lineup, which Bestival founder Rob da Bank says represent a “cast iron guarantee of good times in our new Toronto home.” Also playing the festival in June: Madeon, Tchami, Dubfire, Thomas Jack, Maya Jane Coles, Daughter, Art Department, Joris Voorn and the Wombats. Check out the full lineup below.
After docking upon the Toronto Islands last year, Bestival Toronto moves to Woodbine Park for 2016. Fans of the scenic island setting from last year need not worry, as Bestival organizers have promised one of the coolest features from last year’s festival — a waterfront enclave called the Sunday Best Balearic Beach Bar — will return for Bestival Toronto this summer.
Also returning from last year’s festival will be the blazing beauty of the Bollywood Temple stage, as well as boatloads of the zany shenanigans Bestival is known for, like a zombie-themed cocktail bus, an inflatable church and costume parties galore.
More acts will be announced soon. Tickets start at $159 and are on sale now at bestival.ca
