If you hadn’t heard, Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival did a disappearing act yesterday, deleting all of their social media channels along with the festival’s official website. Speaking with Billboard.com, organizers eventually confirmed the festival was cancelled and gave a sliver of hope to ticket buyers that they would eventually be refunded. However thanks to West Virginia’s Deep Roots Mountain Revival, all the Karoondinha refugees will now be able to enjoy a live music festival experience the same weekend that Karoondinha was scheduled to take place.
Deep Roots Mountain Revival announced today that they will be honoring all 1-Day and 3-Day GA tickets for Karoondinha. The three-day music festival will take place July 20-22 in Masontown, WV (less than 100 miles south of Pittsburgh) and feature Brandi Carlile, Dr. Dog, Lettuce, JJ Grey & Morfro, Moon Taxi, Sam Bush, Yonder Mountain String Band, White Denim and more.
In a statement posted on social media, Deep Roots Mountain Revival founder Claude Ryan had the following to say:
“Deep Roots Mountain Revival just learned that Karoondinha has canceled their event and we realize that it’s the ticket holders who are the ones that suffer. We never want to see another event fail, or watch the fans of the festival scene feel as though they received the short end of the stick.
In an effort to shine a positive light back into a scene that is near and dear to our hearts, we will be honoring all Karoondinha weekend and single day passes at this year’s Deep Roots Mountain Revival, July 20-22, 2017 on Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, WV.”
For those interested in taking Deep Roots Mountain Revival up on their offer, you can exchange your Karoodinha Festival ticket at the gate when arriving, however a parking pass will still need to be purchased.
