The 2015 edition of Louisville, KY’s Forecastle Festival wrapped up last Sunday as a picturesque sunset fell behind Widespread Panic as they closed the festival. The perfect gift from mother nature who otherwise did her best to put a damper on the weekend. A rising Ohio River that forced organizers to move stages, blazing temperatures with heat indexes over 100, and a surprise wind storm that cut the festival short Friday night were no match for Forecastle patrons who were determined to have an amazing time.
Highlights from the weekend included a fiery performance from Kentucky locals Cage The Elephant, a sweaty throw-down from Nashville’s Diarrhea Planet, Houndmouth’s return to a Louisville stage, and an expectation exceeding headlining set by hometown heroes My Morning Jacket. Not to mention the constantly flowing Bourbon. If you’re looking for a convenient weekend festival full of friendly folks and talented musicians, Forecastle Festival is a must.
