It’s hard to believe, but we are only 40 days away from the seventh installment of Governors Ball Music Festival. It takes place Friday, June 2nd through Sunday, June 4th on Randall’s Island Park with acts such as Chance The Rapper, Tool, Childish Gambino, Lorde, Phoenix, Cage The Elephant, and more. If you have an insatiable appetite for music even after the festival gates close, well, you’re in luck.
Governors Ball has just announced their After Dark lineup (Mixed by Bacardi) which are after shows that take place all throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. The after show lineup kicks off on Thursday, June 1st with both Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires at Brooklyn Bowl and Tove Lo at Irving Plaza.
From there, the choices get interesting, showing a cross section of genres. You could dance the night away at Schimanski in Brooklyn to a DJ set from Australia’s own Rufus Du Sol or prefer the indie-rock styling of Car Seat Headrest at Webster Hall. This all concludes with what will be two huge shows as Scottish rock band, Franz Ferdinand plays at Warsaw in Brookyn on Monday, June 5th and Grime artist Skepta ends almost a week’s worth of festivities at Webster Hall on Wednesday, June 7th.
Tickets for Gov Ball After Dark shows go on sale Thursday, April 27th at 12 PM EST at the festival website. A limited pre-sale will be available for Citi® Cardmembers beginning today over on the Citi Private Pass website.
Don’t forget that there are limited tickets available for the festival (both single and three-day day passes) that you get here.
