Knoxville’s Big Ears Festival Expands To 4 Days, Reveals 2017 Lineup

Big Ears Music Festival returns in 2017, bringing avant-garde and contemporary classical music to the forefront of North America. Next year finds the festival expanding to four days (ThursdaySunday), all going down March 23rd-26th across numerous venues in downtown Knoxville, TN.

The lineup is on the meaty side of things. With no artist/composer-in-residence, the festival focused on rare US performances from jazz icon Carla Bley to Norwegian trio, Supersilent to Musica Elettronica Viva’s drone improv.Wilco, Stephen Merritt & The Magnetic Fields (performing 50 Song Memoir over 2 nights), Blonde Redhead, Xui Xui, Tortoise, and Laeticia Sadier of Stereolab fame highlight the 2017 lineup.

Other notables include Dave Harrington (Darkside), Matmos, Deathprod, My Brightest DiamondDhakaBrahka, Nief-Norf, The Crossing, Wu Fei, Deerhoof, DJ Rupture, Henry Grimes, Horse Lords, and tons more.

Ticket information has been released and all options on sale now including General Admission – $165, Premiere – $300 (GA with “jump to the front of the line” capabilities), and VIP – $550 (early access to all venues).
