Last week, it was announced that Beyonce had decided to cancel her headlining performance at Coachella 2017 due to her doctor’s orders surrounding her current pregnancy with twins. While organizers did however confirm the singer would instead headline the 2018 edition of the festival, an obvious enormous gap in the 2017 lineup still had to be filled.
Today, Billboard.com is reporting that Lady Gaga has been tapped to fill in for Beyonce both weekends at Coachella. Sources have told them that an announcement from Coachella will be made in the coming days and that Gaga plans to bring her huge stage production to the Empire Polo Grounds.
Gaga’s massive world tour wasn’t schedule to kickoff until August 1st in Vancouver, B.C., and will already include three nights at the Forum in Los Angeles. However, insiders told Billboard that it was important to Coachella organizers that a female performer replace Beyonce.
Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival will take place across two weekends, April 14-16 and 21-23 in Indio, CA.
UPDATE: Coachella has just shared an updated lineup graphic, confirming Lady Gaga will be headlining Saturday night.
