No confetti. No lasers. No stage dancers. No pyro. No fireworks. No gimmicks. Movement Detroit’s focus is purely on the music and the talented house, techno, and underground producers they bring to downtown Detroit’s Hart Plaza every Memorial Day weekend. While other electronic dance music festivals are in a constant competing battle to up the ante on distracting stage productions, Movement producers Paxahau continue to perfect their own style of festival in the city where techno was born.

This year’s Movement will take place May 28-30 in Detroit’s Hart Plaza as they celebrate their 10-year anniversary. To mark the occasion, they’ve clearly gone big on their Phase 1 lineup announcement which features the first-ever appearance by Kraftwerk taking place outdoors on the main stage in all it’s 3D glory.

“This is a very special booking for the festival and the fans alike,” says Paxahau’s Artist Coordinator, Chuck Flask. “Kraftwerk’s influence goes beyond electronic music – their sound revolutionized a multitude of genres and paved the way for many of the artists on this lineup.”

Additional artists making their Movement debut will be Caribou, Four TetÂme, and The Black Madonna.

Other exciting notables on Movement’s Phase 1 lineup include Adam Beyer, Andrei Morant, Art Department, Boys Noize, Carl Craig, Chris Liebing, David Squillace, DJ Pierre, Dubfire’s Live Hybrid, Get Real (Green Velvet b2b Claude VonStroke), Guti, Guy Gerber, Honey Soundsystem, J.
