Neil Young and the Promise of the Real
Homegrown’s alright with me! WayHome Music and Arts announced early Monday morning that Neil Young and Promise of the Real have been added as headliners to the first-year festival in Oro-Medonte. Neil will make the trip to a town in north Ontario to promote his new politically and ecologically-charged album The Monsanto Years. Recent setlists indicate fans can expect lots of new tracks, mixed in with a hearty supply of Neil classics. Neil is “On The Way Home” indeed.
WayHome has been teasing lineup additions in a frustratingly-cryptic fashion for the last week, but today, the cloud of mystery was lifted, as in addition to Neil, WayHome officially welcomed a bountiful harvest of new acts to its inaugural lineup. Among the recent WayHome recruits are Brandon Flowers, Theophilus London, Manchester Orchestra, The Lone Bellow, Django Django, The Growlers, Rhiannon Giddens, Dwayne Gretzky, Tobias Jesso Jr, Chad VanGaalen, Broncho, Slow Magic, Highs, Brave Shores, Kevin Garrett, Weaves, Ascot Royals, The Beaches, Tomi Swick, Zorch, Amos the Transparent, Teen Violence, The Huaraches and Cross Dog.

“Today’s announcement furthers establishes WayHome as a major player among North America’s premiere music and arts festivals,” said Ashley Capps, CEO of AC Entertainment. “And we’re just getting started.”
Tier two tickets are on sale now and are sure to move fast after these exciting additions. Additional details about the WayHome Experience, including WayHome’s unique late-night spectacles will be announced in the coming weeks.
